The show "The Jersey Shore" on MTV is a reality show of Guido's and Guidettes sharing a house together in Seaside Heights, NJ. One guy refers to himself as "The Situation". Basically he's built like a brick shithouse and he knows it. He never goes anywhere without his hairgel, and it takes him about 25 minutes to do his hair every night. All the characters on this show basically epitomize Italian Americans. They're all cocky and are those Forgetaboutit type of Italians. Apparently the show has been getting some negative press because of the way they portray Italian Americans. Apparently those who are upset about the show are currently contacting advertisers and are asking them to pull out of MTV.
Cmon people. I'm Italian myself. My grandparents came over here on a boat from Napoli. I think the show is a goof, and believe it or not there's all types of people out there. Yes, there's actually people who talk like they're off the streets of Flatbush Avenue. Big fing deal. Donesn't anybody have anything else to do than to become upset because of an assinine (sp) TV show? Cmon The Situation, Snookums, The Princess of Poukeepsie, and Paulie need to be seen for the goofs they are. I can't wait to see The Princess of Poukeepsie get punched in the mouth by some guy later this season. Watch the one episode and you'll be hooked too.
I don't think the show will make it too long because of the bad press. As soon as advertisers start pulling out so does MTV.
